Paddling on the Red Deer river...

Last weekend Colin, Jinny, Jinny's dad, my dad, Tim and I went for a canoe trip on the Red Deer river. We started at Dinasaur provincial park, which, if you live in Alberta and haven't visited, you really should. Not all great things are west of Calgary...

As we started the trip and looked at the distance and the speed at which we were floating with very little effort, we realized that we would never make this a 3 day trip, and would have to be pretty lazy to make it into a 2 day trip. We proved though that we were up to the challenge and spent much time lazing about in the canoes, and taking shore breaks to go exploring.

After canoeing we spent a night at Dinasaur provincial park. The next day we went on a guided hike to a dig site.

Brag Creek BBQ

Today Sharlane, Theresa, Marty, Tim and I went to Bragg Creek for a BBQ. We are magnets for storms I think... We sat under a tarp for an hour while it poured. This picture is after the rain finished, the sun was shining through the trees and lit up the smoke from the fire.
Guinness had a great time fetching balls. He is sound asleep now after his tiring afternoon.
Here is a rare picture... Take note, Theresa is smiling, her hand is not blocking the picture :o)

Oh to be a child again...

Today I went to Calaway park with my friends Sharlane and Theresa. We may have been the only people there without children. The first ride we went on was a new one called "The Storm", it was a fun spin you around and almost flip you upside down type ride. Later on we rode the "Storm" all over again, but on a different ride. Just as the ride was getting started it had started to hail, and instead of cries of joy and fear; all you heard during the ride was "ouch, ouch" being shouted from all around you.
